SDS Week 7

Not much more has been done with the 4-H animals this week. We have greatly increased the amount of feed they have been getting, their diet includes, barley, oats, corn, supplement and sweet molasses feed. We have also had to keep a close eye on the heifers and watch for heats, because if they are in heat, they must beĀ AIed within the next 12 hours or we will have to wait for them to cycle again in 3 weeks.

SDS Week 6

buddha

This past week we have decided to give our steers a break because of the busy week they had in Yorkton. We have entered the steers into a Jackpot show in Kennedy on June 4th! I am excited to get Buddha back in the ring!

SDS Week 5

image

From March 31st – April 2nd Buddha and I attended the Yorkton Spring Steer and Heifer Show! I competed in many events including judging, team grooming (with Buddha) and the open show. I placed 2nd in team grooming with Buddha, along side a girl from Tisdale and a boy from Weyburn! The open show in the class where the judge is judging strictly your animal. I placed 5th in my class and this is very good considering the champion and reserve champion both came from my class!

Aqua Lab Week 5

feeder fish

Not much has been done with the feeder fish, we are now down to 4 fish, we don’t think there is anything wrong with the water, they likely just went hungry over the break this past week. We are still feeding them daily and we plan on getting our guppies at either the end of this week or the beginning of next!
